Finish visit of old Goa and move on to hotel of a category of your choice.

Visit old Kochi where former colonial presence mixes with 21th century life. Old Kochi is compact and easy to visit from old Chinese fishing nets to portuguese Saint Francis church. Night in Kochi.
Day 3
Embark for a cruise and one night in the famous luscious backwaters on a traditional boat with simple but comfortable bedroom and attached bathroom.As you navigate, you will witness daily life: women washing clothes and dishes in the water, children coming back from school, fishermen repairing a net etc.At the end of afternoon, boat will anchor as you relax and enjoy a magnificent sunset and a delicious dinner on board.
Day 4
Make sure you wake up early as fishermen come back with their catch and enjoy one of the most peaceful and colorful sunrises of your life! After cruise, drive to Peryar. Night in Peryar.

Day 1
Arrive in Chennai and transfer to your hotel. Night in Chennai.
See Fort Saint Georges built around 1650 by the British East India company, the High Court Building said to be the largest after the one in London, Saint Andrew's Church - see wall plaques inside church in the memory of young Bristish women who died shortly after arrival - and other famous buildings in Chennai. Government museum is also worth a visit for the archeological section representing every South India period.
Day 2
From Chennai to Mahabalipuram.
En route See Kanchipuram, one of the 7 holy Hindu cities. Mahabalipuram has been known by sailors for over 20 centuries. On the beach is the the famous Shore Temple standing in a beautiful and romantic spot since the 13th century and also spared by 21th century Tsunami.See other temples and rock carvings going back to the 7th and 8th centuries.Night in Mahabalipuram.
Day 3
Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry spend time exploring the French quarter in old city.Take a rikshaw ride in the "white city". Night in Pondicherry.
Day 4
Pondicherry - Darasuram. Night in Darasuram.
Day 5
Darasuram - Tanjore - Trichy
Peryar, is a hill station where you can best see tea and spice plantations and encounter native and exotic wildlife as well. Night in Peryar.
Day 6
Drive back down to the sea and spend a few days in a resort of your choice, sampling delicious South Indian food and enjoying some of the best Ayrvedic massages. While there, take a side trip to the very bottom of the sub-continent. Fly out of Kovalam.
